LOGOS
Logo selection 2006 - 2010
2009 - WEBWISDOM
CLIENT - WebWisdom, a British Web Marketing company.
BRIEFING - To redesign its logo and develop their new website.
SOLUTION - I've used a bold sanserif type to give it a modern look. Then I joined every single type together to make it look connected, to suggest all information on the web is linked.
I designed a hand cursor symbol above the logotype to give the idea of a mouse cursor over a hyperlink, expressing it's the right place to click. I've used the yellow (golden) colour, which has associations with intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, richness, etc.
2009 - TRACK AND LOCATE
CLIENT - Track and Locate, a British company that provides a corporate tracking system that works via mobile phones.
BRIEFING - To design an up-to-date, minimalist logo and website.
SOLUTION - If less is more, I've done it as simple as it can be. I decided to work with a lower case type, sanserif, and reduced the tracking between the fonts since it's a long name, which makes it hard to create a logo.
The mobile phone was the obvious symbol to work with because it relates to the kind of service provided by this client. The client suggested I should use blue for the background so I chose yellow and white to create a nice harmonic and contrasted colour palette.
2009 - SHARP EDGE
CLIENT - Sharp Edge Copier Service. It's a British company with 25 years in business.
BRIEFING - To redesign its logo with a simple and modern feel that would match with the new website look.
SOLUTION - The previous logotype had a very raw and old-fashioned look because it had a serif italic font type. After hand drawing tons of different ideas, I went for a sanserif type and played with its tracking. The colour palette was easy to set as it's a copier and printing service company. I went for basic CMYK variations. At the end I decided that magenta would be the contrast colour since it would give the logo a more modern look. The letter "A" was perfect to establish my "sharp edge" sign.
2009 - GBW
CLIENT - GBW Empreendimentos, a Brazilian construction company.
BRIEFING - To design a logo.
SOLUTION - The client wanted their brand to relate with their coast enterprises and suggested to use a boat as symbol. I created an abstract boat sailing in the sea and added a motion effect with the invisible line crossing the elements.
2009 - DELISHVILLE
CLIENT - Delishville, a blog about gluten free food and recipes.
BRIEFING - To design a logo and develop a new blog interface.
2009 - COPACABANA
CLIENT - a Brazilian company that design internet softwares and systems.
BRIEFING - Copacabana is the name of a very famous beach in Rio de Janeiro. The challenge was to design a logo that could relate the company to technology in despite of its name.
2008 - LIQUID SQUID COVER
Logo for an 80's tribute band.
2008 - CET MANAGEMENT UK
CLIENT - CET UK, a company that belongs to CET Management, a multi-national group of companies that provides services to travel bureaus aimed at exchange student programs.
BRIEFING - To design a logo for the Council for Educational Travel in the United Kingdom.
SOLUTION - The client didn't want the logo to be read as "CETUK", so we suggested to use the word "Management" right between "CET" and "UK". Since the company has a long name, we thought adding a symbol would make it look too heavy, so we associated the "K" with a part of the UK's flag.
2008 - CET ADVENTURES
Logo proposal for one of CET Management's travel programs in Whistler, Canada.
2008 - CAPCASE
CLIENT - Capcase, a Brazilian case and musical instruments and equipment manufacturer and e-commerce.
BRIEFING - To redesign their logo, branding and their e-commerce web site.
SOLUTION - After researching through hundreds of case makers, bands, amplifiers and instruments logos, we noticed that most of them had similar patterns, such as: pioneer guitar makers used to design their logos, which gave them a raw look; amplifiers and instrument cases usually had their logos screwed to their bodies in one piece; most of them had a "metallic look", possibly because they were using materials leftovers; most logos were uppercase, bold and had grotesque type faces.
So basically, what we did was to join all these ideas and select what could possibly work. The final result was this logotype. In this layout the logo is applied at a case illustration that was used on business cards and advertising.
2008 - BRAZILIAN WAY OF LIFE
CLIENT - BtoW Brazilians to the World - A travel agency that provides exchange programs and educational travel.
BRIEFING - To create a name, logo and hotsite for a web video contest aimed at their clients (which are Brazilians living abroad).
SOLUTION - The contestants were required to send their videos relating to their experiences abroad, so I came up with "Brazilian Way Of Life", a parody to the "American Way Of Life". I didn't want to use the basic Brazilian clichés such as samba, carnival, jungle, etc. So I simply worked with the national colours to create a tropical, young and friendly look.
2008 - BLINK
CLIENT - BtoW.
BRIEFING - To design a logo for a piece of software developed for travel agencies.
2007 - ANNES & D'AVILLA
CLIENT - Annes & D'Avila Lawyers.
BRIEFING - To design a new logo for this law firm.
2006 - Wvirtual
CLIENT - Wvirtual, a internet service provider.
BRIEFING - To redesign the company's visual identity.
2006 - INSTITUTO COUTO
CLIENT - Instituto Couto, a dental clinic.
BRIEFING - To design a logo.
SOLUTION - This clinic's specialties are Periodontics (gum) and Dentistry (aesthetics). To express these concepts in one symbol I used Fibonacci's Golden section theory to design a tooth root inside the gum.
2006 - CELULA
CLIENT - Celula Ideias, a Brazilian advertising agency.
BRIEFING - To design a logo.
SOLUTION - The company's name means "idea cell". What I did was to design the simplest cell possible.
2006 - ANAHI
Logo for a fashion brand inspired by South American tribe cultures.
